2019 Begins with Amply Merited Recognition

Updated: Feb 17, 2019

The beginning of the spring semester brought terrific recognition to three outstanding members of the Li Research Group: Gongyu, Kellen, and Xiaofang. Each was recognized individually by three different awarding bodies.

Xiaofang Zhong was awarded the United States Human Proteome Organization (US HUPO) Travel Award to attend the annual conference in Washington D.C. This conference has quite a limited number of awards to give compared to the number of attendees, so such recognition is certainly a mark of pride for any student.

Kellen Delaney was awarded the Chinese American Chromatography Association (CACA) Student Excellence Award. The 2019 CACA Student Excellence Awards, sponsored by Advanced Materials Technology, recognize outstanding contributions to the development of separation science and its applications, especially in the field of chromatography. This marks the second consecutive year a member of the Li Research Group has received such recognition.

Gongyu Li received the 2019 ASMS Post-Doctoral Career Development Award! The purpose of the award is to promote the professional career development of postdoctoral fellows in the field of mass spectrometry. Gongyu's outstanding work this far makes the award serves as a timely reminder of the quality researchers present in the Li Research Group and across all of UW-Madison.
